Fiscal Pushes Consequence

There is a saying that you can’t make anyone happy, if they don’t want it… And yet it seems that you can! Masters of Europe are getting their head around such an idea.  Minister Sikorski suggests flexibility of countries’ sovereignty. Chancellor Angela Merkel emphasizes that not everyone has to agree with it.  If indebted countries do not accept German restrictions, they will not get money and as a result they will have to rely only on themselves, which does not look good.

If, however, these countries take a helping hand, this will mean that they accept the agreement.

This is how a “euro-prostitution” has begun, which should not surprise us. Greece, Spain, Portugal, Ireland, and Italy will become EU-mistresses. They can always say “no”, but people have to live somehow and that is why it is worth to swallow the pride and clench the teeth. Besides, the community will be not a bad guardian. It will take care of its wards and will treat them almost like a family.

Sikorski knew what he was doing. Holding the EU presidency, Poland can support this idea, which was received with appreciation at the summit, and can take the lead in such project. Poland will be almost like the first wife in the harem, who will have to be taken into account by everyone.

If we are burdened by the crisis, we have to understand that the time for change has come and we should take a position that will help us to survive.  Capitalism has disappointed us or its real possibilities guaranteeing some kind of order have just ended. It has to be replaced by a new form with clear rules.  A new situation will create strong people, without feelings, with attainable economic plan, which will enable the strongest ones to develop and the weakest to survive.

Undoubtedly, it is going to be connected with bigger control and surveillance of all sectors, citizens and legal entities.

This reminds me of the Russian politics, which has been conducted in such a way for some time now. We call Russia an enemy of democracy and a one-man country.  Yet, our common EU-politics is heading in the same direction.  The direction of condescension and “strong hand rules”.

Sikorski’s suggestions would stimulate and tighten cooperation forms inside the Union.  Moreover, an economic governance package, the so-called „six-pack”, would include 5 regulations and one directive. The main aim of this package will be to monitor, warn, impose fines and pay control visits in Member States.

Fewer people in the European Commission would assure its better and more efficient functioning. Regular rotation of lower number of commissioners can ensure protection from any settlements, which is a good idea, although it can also cause quite big confusion and as a result total lack of effectiveness… Unless the commissioners would be more task-oriented and would act in a timely manner.  It seems to be a better solution, since everyone could prove oneself instead of leaving undone matters to the successor, who can have different views.

The idea to combine the role of the chairman of European Council with participation in the European Commission sounds reasonable, because problems in both posts are the same.  On the other hand, the Merkel’s idea to choose these persons through democratic elections in Europe – I can’t imagine it… Promotion of candidates in the whole EU would be a complicated and expensive process.   I would not count on big attendance in such elections.

There were new decisions and new treaties made on 8 December, which can be accepted by 27 or maybe 17 states… The Chancellor of Germany and the President of France are desperate and will not negotiate with countries which do not like the new regulations.  They have to protect the Community.  The door is open for every EU country that declares subordination.
